Antique ceramic mixing bowl, biscuit coloured with a pouring spout and textured effect around the exterior of swirled canes.
- This is a great looking piece which just exudes vintage charm - it would sit well in any farmhouse/Hampton's style kitchen
- While it has no chips or cracks the gazed finish has deteriorated in spots, and the surface underneath is powdery
- Due to the powdery residue it is a display piece only - I'm pretty sure clay is not good in cake!
- Date and maker unknown but have seen similar styles of bowls attributed to the 1930's and Australian maker Hoffman Pottery - the bowl has no marks to indicate maker.
CONDITION
No chips or cracks. Glaze has worn away in spots around the interior base and on the exterior base (as pictured). The surface in these spots will release a powdery residue if brushed. I have left the bowl as found - a clear varnish or similar would prevent further damage.
DIMENSIONS
25 cm diameter at the rim, 10 cm deep. Weighs 1.4 kg.
