"A soothing succulent licorice toffee bar"... Since when has toffee been soothing? It gets stuck in all the wrong places and makes the jaw ache.
Did you know that the Choo-Choo bar was originally created in Western Australia by Plaistowe? Created in the 1950s and adorned with an exceptionally culturally insensitive image on the packaging. Luckily over time, this image was changed to what it is today; a group of seemingly terrified animals being taken hostage on a runaway train manned by a monkey. I knew monkeys were dodgy!
This product is proudly still made in Australia and continues to blacken the mouths of children and adults alike.
Apparently, this modern version is not exactly like the original from the 1950s, but I have been told it is a close resemblance.
- Full of nostalgia
- Supposedly soothing; there is no way you can convince me of that one
- Do they mean soothing, as in licorice is a natural laxative?
