Gilly's Black Wax - Furniture Antiquing Wax

Gilly's black wax protects and enhances the look of upcycled furniture. This non-toxic wax will quickly become an essential part of your upcycling toolkit. It is designed to provide a layer of protection over mineral or chalk paints while giving a subtle, washed effect.

The pigments in Gilly’s Effects Waxes accumulate in the corners of relief carvings and mouldings, picking out the details and allowing you to develop an antique, rustic effect easily and quickly. We recommend applying a clear wax under the Black Effects Wax on lighter paints. This will allow you to control the amount of pigment on the surface. Follow up both colours with a coat of Carnauba Polish Clear for added protection and to lock colour in.
