Before Le Creuset, there was Cousances, acquired by Le Creuset in 1957 and still used to create enamelled cast iron wares under the original name until the late 1980s.
- This size 20 saucepan is marked Cousances France on the saucepan base and Le Creuset on the underside of the lid.
- Chunky enamelled cast iron - flame orange on the outside and originally white on the inside.
CONDITION
- Significant discoularation to the interior - enamel is unbroken but has surface scratching and is now more grey than white
- Handle lid is not original and is a little loose (attached by a screw so can be fixed/replaced)
- The lid has some small chips around the edge.
- Base has a ring of black at the outed edge.
DIMENSIONS
20 cm diameter, base is 8 cm tall. 30 cm wide, including handle. A chunky 2.6 kg. Don't hit anyone with it. Or drop it on your toe.
